Seven Days - Seven Answers

While looking into Six Word Saturday, I came across this meme and found it quite intriguing since I love to answer questions.  I think it's going to be harder than I originally thought though.  Why don't you give it a try and see what you can do?  Just click on the button to the right.  You can even win prizes : )

Take Two: Given a second chance, how would this be different? Rewrite the ending to a book, movie, scene, fable, quote, etc.

Tomorrow is March 1st. Traditionally, the saying goes:

In like a lion, out like a lamb.

Play editor and write your own version of the idiom.

Here's mine:  March - In like an (insert your heritage), out like an Irishman.

Peace.  : )

Color Carnival

Last week, I changed the batteries in my mouse and ever since it has been very sluggish.  I checked all the settings that I always keep on super fast and none have changed.  Just now, I went to crop this photo so it would hone in more on the colors and the cropper thingey (don't you love it when I talk techy?) wouldn't go past half the picture.  I wonder if half the batteries aren't working??  Hee hee.  Anyway, here's the picture; I'm hoping it will be a harbinger of spring.

Fertilizer Friday - Signs of Life

Here's a plant that I don't even remember putting there, but I sure do love it, and it's an early bloomer:

I was going to show you a whole bunch of signs of life pix, however, we had another frost last night and I'm too depressed to mess with it!  If you would like to see more pix of plants please click on the button to the right.  Peace and warmth.  B : )

Ricepatty and I saw this "sign" on one of the walkways at Shamrock Park.  Looks sort of alien doesn't it?  But it's probably something more mundane like a construction sign.  I like it though : )

Watery Wednesday

This is a strange picture, but I like it.  I didn't think it was going to turn out because of the sun, but you can just see the beach on the other side of the Waterway

ABC Wednesday - F is for Follies - Follies Pottay - so if you don't think you can find animal bodily functions amusing, don't read any further

Almost every morning, at around 4:00, I walk the dogs.  Almost every morning I about die laughing.  I find my dogs very funny, as you probably do too if you have pets.  Mine, however, seem to have some very laughable potty habits, you should pardon the expression.  I guess you'd have to know me to understand my sense of humor, but basically, I try to find good and humor in everything.  One of my favorite philosophies is that it's all good, even dog poo because it means (a) you have a dog and (b) you can afford to feed it.  So here goes:

The first, and biggest star of the show is Jeff

It appears that Jeffie is predominantly left handed.  Something I found out early on, but the other dogs never seem to learn.  So when all the dogs are lining up to christen or smell a pole or tree, they are expecting Jeff to do what most dogs do and lift his right leg.  However, Jeffie being left handed most of the time, the other dogs get squirted on, and shake their heads and try to run away screaming like little girls, but that's hard to do on leashes.  Maybe he does it on purpose; I don't know.  When Jeff poos, that becomes a major celebration for him.  He hops up and down and tries to run (if he's in the yard, he does run) and just generally shows how excited he is to be so relieved.

The medium sized Follies Pottay star is Ricky
Here in SW Florida, most roads are bordered in ditches, which we lovingly called swales, since they are part of the water management system.  In our neighborhood we do not have sidewalks - there is the road, a little tiny patch of grass, and then the swale starts to descend.  Some are very deep, some are quite shallow.  Most dogs, especially very hairy ones like the furry terrier would swing their butts around and poo downhill - nice and clean and easy.  Not Ricky.  Ricky has never done that.  He always poos uphill, head hanging over the abyss and tail end squished up the hill.  Not so easy and often not so clean.  I carry paper towels with me on our walks : )  I have to laugh every time though, he's so silly.

And then the newest member of the troupe, CiCi
Evidently Miss Ci was a circus performer before she came to us.  When her Foster Mother brought her to our home so we could all meet and she could see that we were OK people to adopt, Ci first went to a patch of grass by the mailbox, right out of the car.  Her Foster Mom said, "Oh my God, you have to see this.  You won't believe it!".  CiCi had to pee, so she picked up her hind legs, stood on her front legs, and peed while standing on her hands.  Honest.  She does it about half the time.  I can't get a picture of it because I never know when she's going to do it again and can't get the camera ready that fast.  As if that weren't funny enough, the poor thing is absolutely paranoid about passing gas...and I don't mean burping...she does that proudly, and loudly.  When it happens, if she's on a leash, she jumps up in the air, spins around, runs into the other two dogs, keeps looking at her butt and tries to get away.  You wouldn't believe it, and it's incredibly funny!  If it happens at home while she's lying around she'll suddenly launch from a reclining position into the air, spinning, jumping, running, and looking at her butt.  It's just totally amazing!  Whoever heard of anything like that?

So that's the Follies Pottay.  God gets to hear me laugh a whole lot because I always say my prayers while I'm walking the dogs, and they get interrupted quite often.  Good thing he understands : )

Mellow Yellow Monday AND Ruby Tuesday - another twofer, dontcha love it?

The Queen Mum made what she calls her annual plant pilgrimage to see St. Bonnie on Friday.  She buys lovely plants to enjoy for a while then knows they need to go outside to thrive and brings them to me.  Am I blessed or what??  She also brought a delightful chicken from Publix and an egg custard pie - OMG!  All I had to do was make lots of tea and enjoy.  And enjoy I did.  While watering the plants yesterday, I realized I had a twofer right there where QM set them down.  Have a look:

And here are a few special bonus shots, just to prove that Spring is on the way.  They have nothing to do with Yellow or Red (except maybe in its washed out form), but here they are:

In case you don't recognize it, it's Shamrock.  I found it in three places in the yards when I was picking up dog poo yesterday.  Nice surprise!  Peace.  B : )

Shadow Shot Sunday

Valentine's Day....had a little dinner party with Mom and Dad and Aunt Doris and Uncle Mike....not for Valentine's Day but did it up a little anyway.  Each guest got a box of conversation hearts on their plates and a balloon tied to their chairs.  The balloons supplied this week's shadow.
Hope your Sunday is shaping up to be a happy one - if not, make it so.  Peace.  B: )

My photo this week is amazing also, but I cannot take any credit whatsoever for it, except for clicking the button.  You cannot see where the aquarium starts or ends or where the room's windows actually are situated.  It's pretty cool.  See for yourself:

This is a lovely aquarium in the Emergency Room of the hospital in Venice, Florida.  It's been proven that watching fish lowers your blood pressure and stress level.  Smart, huh?  Peace and low blood pressure to you.  B : )

BTW, to the wonderful visitors who asked about the berries - I don't know what they are; everything in that park had a sign with the name except that one, so I guess I should know what it is.  The two pictures above it are scheffleria and I didn't know that bloomed.  For those who asked about the tree, I don't remember what it's called either; I just took it's picture because of the dead vine and leaf wrapped around it.  I thought that was great.

Peace.  B : )

Watery Wednesday

The past few days, my dear, sweet, wonderful FIL, whom I adore, has been experiencing some medical challenges, and has had to visit the local ER.  He's doing OK now and is having tests and seeing specialists, so not to worry, but I needed to explain why my Watery Wednesday shot was taken in the ER of our local hospital : )  Here it is:

I would show you the whole aquarium but I'm saving that picture for Weekend Reflections.  If you would like to see some really fantastic watery pictures, please click on the Watery Wednesday button to your right. Peace.  B: )

ABC Wednesday - E is for Egg

Please meet McCluskey:

McCluskey is a little stuffed chicken; poorly made out of cheap fabric, sitting in straw in a rough hewn box, who stole my heart many years ago.  I'm fairly certain I got her in New Jersey which means she has been with me over 25 years.  Her usual spot is on top of the fridge.  There is glass on the box and, even without a flash, I had a terrible time getting a good picture, so please enjoy this bad picture.  Isn't it funny how sometimes one little thing can wiggle it's way into your existence and you can't imagine living without it?  That's McCluskey.  Hope you enjoy her.  Peace.  B : )

Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday and a question

First the question - does anybody know why this happens?  I post for a meme, I go to that meme, I enter the information on Mr. Linky.  The next day I go to my blog and have very few comments and sometimes I realize I have forgotten to go to the meme, etc., but other times I KNOW I have.  I go to the meme again, and I'm not on the list.  Can I not see my own name on the list, although I saw it when I did it?  If anyone can explain, I'd sure like to know why - thanks!  And now for Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday, both of which you can join also by clicking the buttons on the right.  They are joined together this week because I came across TWO, not one, but TWO different plants that obliged me with both colors!
Sorry the first two pix are not more close up, but I took them from the passenger side of the car, across the car, across the street - the little camera did a nice job huh?  Enjoy your President's Day - those of you who have off from work today - hooray!!!  Peace.  B : )

Shadow Shot Sunday and Weekend Reflections

Happy Shadow Shot Sunday and Valentine's Day!  I hesitated to use this picture because it makes me look like a very short, stubby, fat person, when in reality I am a quite tall fat person.  But here it is anyway because I thought it was cool.  I blocked out the license plate to protect the innocent.  I noticed my shadow in the reflection in this giant chrome bumper on this huge black truck.  And without further ado - here it is:

Camera Critters

It's always a surprise to see what will come in with the furry terriers when they come back from a jaunt in the yards.  Not a problem with Jeffie, he just brings in shells and stones between his toes.  Here are a few shots of one of Ricky's best!
Funny thing is, he doesn't even care.

For those of you who visit regularly, and those who participate in the same memes that I do - I apologize.  I had a project to work on and I haven't kept up with my posts and have been downright rude about leaving and answering comments.  Sorry.  I'll try to do better now it's almost done.

If you want to see lots more cute critters, or leave one of your own, please click on the Camera Critters button to the right. And you can join Bozo at Pet Pride here http://wingsandpaws.blogspot.com/

Peace and crazy critters to you.  B : )

This Way ThursWay

Signs, signs, everywhere signs....this sign is not actually a directional sign, but it does mark my husband taking a good direction in his life.  Victor is half Italian and half Irish, and has an artist's temperament, so to say he's a little quick on the anger trigger is quite an understatement.  However, a couple of months ago when he was working on the guitars he makes, from scratch, by hand, he did something wrong and ruined two of them.  This was not good of course, but not the end of the world, so I had to show him that, being the good wife that I am : )  I suggested he take the oval base off our armadillo, make his sunglasses fit better, and make him and the two ruined guitars into a sign that I can use when taking photos for his blog and website.  And here it is:
This sign represents a time of triumph - over loss, over anger, and blah blah blah.  I am VERY proud of him.

To see more signs please click on the This Way ThursWay button to your right.
Peace.  B : )

Get Your Craft on Thursday

OMG is it Thursday already??  I've been lost in a sea of receipts - paying dearly for my horrible procrastination.  Now it's time to go to the accountant and I'm struggling to get six months of neglected paperwork done.  I SWEAR I will never do that again.  Anyway, here's a card I made to send to my sister for her to send to someone else.  That's the envelope peeking out from behind there.
And this is the inside.  I left it blank for her to write her own original sentiment.

ABC Wednesday - D is for Dirty-faced Dog

Yeah, I was going to surprise you and not do a dog for D, but I just couldn't help myself.  Jeffie will be embarrassed when he hears I did this.  He likes to clean out food containers and since he's the only one of the three who doesn't hide them under the bed, or in a not easily accessible house, he gets them.  This came from his yogurt - the big tall container, what is it, a pint or something?
If you would like to celebrate the letter D, please click on the ABC Wednesday button to the right.  Thanks and make someone happy today.  Peace.  B : )

Camera Critters - Poor Ricky!

When we were in the midst of that long cold spell, the lizards had to come in - first to the garage, then to the house.  We had to borrow Ricky's big house from the master bedroom, to house the lizards.  When they went back out to the garage we put them in a giant wire kennel.  When they had their little spat (see bloody lizards here) we had to put Bobber in Ricky's big house and leave Zimmie in the kennel, but just until their daddy finished their new home and then they went in there real quickly.

We call it Ricky's big house because Ricky also has a small house in the computer room - not that he's spoiled or anything, he just likes to go into houses I guess.  So we moved Ricky's little house to the place where his big house belongs.  And this is what happened:
He DOES fit in the little house.  I can only guess that he went to run in and realized it was a lot shorter and stopped, and just stayed there.

So that's my shaggy dog story and I'm stickin' to it.  If you want to see more critters, please click on the Camera Critter button to the right.  Peace.  B : )

Color Carnival - please do not use

This picture is so perfect for Color Carnival; however, it did present a problem.  This was taken at a local arts/crafts festival.  The gentleman in the tent asked what I was going to do with it.  I explained it to him.  He said we don't normally allow pictures.  I said I respect that when I see a sign - I don't see a sign.  He said "well, she forgot to put it up".  I said, oh well.  So here is the picture and please don't use it or copy it or whatever it is that upset that man : )  I would certainly be happy for people to enjoy my arts/crafts enough to take pictures of them and, after all, imitation is the purest form of admiration or however that goes.  But I guess he didn't feel the same way.  So after all that to-do, here it is:

To see more hopefully not forbidden color, please click on the Color Carnival button to your right.

P.S.  I didn't blog yesterday - missed two memes - does that make me a bad person?  Hahahahah!   Peace.  B : )
