Today I am officially bowing out of some of the memes that I have been toying with - and that is why, because I've just been toying, I haven't been taking them seriously enough. Why? Because they don't really fit me. This Way ThursWay for instance - I rarely go anywhere, so I rarely have signs. So no biggie, but you won't see as many memes.
A little announcement, self-serving as it is - I have put many new card sets up in my little shop. Still haven't done the single cards, but they're almost there. So, if you are in the market for some notecards, or for a little hand crafted gift for someone, please go to http://www.shophandmade.com/store/justb and look around. Thanks!
Have a happy day and make it that way for someone else too. Peace. B : )

This Way ThursWay
Ricepatty and I saw this "sign" on one of the walkways at Shamrock Park. Looks sort of alien doesn't it? But it's probably something more mundane like a construction sign. I like it though : )
Please click on the This Way ThursWay button to your right if you'd like to participate. Peace. B : )
I would be honored if you would visit my new on-line store and see some of the cards I have been making. Feel free to purchase some if you would like : )

Please be sure to watch out for all those people walking upside down : )

BTW, to the wonderful visitors who asked about the berries - I don't know what they are; everything in that park had a sign with the name except that one, so I guess I should know what it is. The two pictures above it are scheffleria and I didn't know that bloomed. For those who asked about the tree, I don't remember what it's called either; I just took it's picture because of the dead vine and leaf wrapped around it. I thought that was great.
Peace. B : )

Signs, signs, everywhere signs....this sign is not actually a directional sign, but it does mark my husband taking a good direction in his life. Victor is half Italian and half Irish, and has an artist's temperament, so to say he's a little quick on the anger trigger is quite an understatement. However, a couple of months ago when he was working on the guitars he makes, from scratch, by hand, he did something wrong and ruined two of them. This was not good of course, but not the end of the world, so I had to show him that, being the good wife that I am : ) I suggested he take the oval base off our armadillo, make his sunglasses fit better, and make him and the two ruined guitars into a sign that I can use when taking photos for his blog and website. And here it is:
This sign represents a time of triumph - over loss, over anger, and blah blah blah. I am VERY proud of him.

if you still have the time and/or the inclination, after reading all the rules. Jeez have people totally lost all common sense and courtesy so that every possible action has to be regulated by a sign?
Have a great day - after you read the rules. Peace. B : )

Who would want to? I do a lot of foolish things when it comes to animals because I have no fear of them, but I do NOT put my hand in a hole when I don't know what's in there. This is one of the informative signs on the Venetian Waterway. If you want to see more, and participate yourslf, please click on the button to the right. But don't be disturbing any turtles now. Peace. B : )

This Way ThursWay - A sign of the times
This is a real sign of the times. I originally took this picture for the meme called Watery Wednesday, but when I read what it said on the window I realized you see this sign everywhere these days - empty stores for lease.
Another sign of the times, a much happier one, is that people are taking much better care of their pets nowadays. You rarely see a dog chained up in a yard anymore. People spend billions of dollars on their pets every year. Due to this new respect for animals, and because of the poker craze, more Greyhound race tracks have closed their doors this past year. The numbers are dwindling and this is a wonderful thing! What's not so wonderful for the dogs is that thousands of them no longer have homes, such as they were. Good news for you - they're up for adoption. If you want to know more about these wonderful pets you can e-mail me at bleemcguire@gmail.com. Thanks. Hope your signs of the times are good ones. Peace. B : ) Oh, and if you want to play along, please click on the button to the right. Thanks.

Whew! Our cable was out from early afternoon and still out when I went to bed yesterday. Having withdrawals. But I got it together enough to give you a picture. This is probably more information than you want or need, but - the only part of me I take any kind of care of is my hair. I buy it good products and every six to eight weeks, I get it trimmed. The other day was one of those days. I pulled up to the parking spots and there was only one open - but to my surprise it seemed to be reserved just for me!
Can you see it yet? Probably not, but I wanted to show you my car. I drove a Geo Spectrum for 10 years; drove the kids around with no safety features, etc., then I splurged and bought the most beautiful car in the world, but I don't want to talk about that. Because...shortly after, we got Fred, and a month or so after that we got Jack and they didn't fit very well in that car, so I got this, my Chrysler PT Cruiser. And it may not be beautiful but it is the BEST car in the world. This was one of the original ones made and it needs a paint job and it's about to be 9 or 10 years old on December 22nd, but it's still like a party every single time I get in it. I just love it. It's only had the back seats in maybe a half dozen times, when I used to tote around my Little Sister, so they're brand new. At one point my husband bought an HHR and I thought I might like one of them, but Jeff had to bend his head to fit; the seats didn't fold down low enough. The sign on the back went up when we got Josie and it's falling off now and there are no longer three Greyhounds, but I still see peoples' reactions in my rear view mirror. I used to love to pass Greyhound buses on I-75, just so the drivers could read my sign, hee hee. But I digress - now on to a close up of the sign:

While walking along the Venice Intracoastal Waterway Park, Patrice (http://martinip23.blogspot.com/) and I came across this sign at the Senior Friendship Center. Even though we didn't have any of the dogs with us, we decided to take a look. It was broken. Not very friendly of the Friendship Center was it? Have a friendly day. Peace. B : )

This Way ThursWay - and Happy Thanksgiving!
Believe it or not, I actually didn't have to leave my yard to find a signpost. I sort of hate to share this picture, for two reasons: One, this was taken after my husband did a major maintenance on this part of the yard and ripped down all the vines that were growing, it looks awful. Two, I think the signpost is stolen, but it's been there since before we moved in, so we had nothing to do with it officer, honest!!
Have a super wonderful Thanksgiving.
