ABC Wednesday - G is for girls - Girling Girls

Here we are in all our glory - The Girling Girls, sort of.  This picture was taken on Easter in 1950, in (I think) Pennsauken, New Jersey.  I am the short fat one. I would have been almost four years old.  I started life very fat - 11 pounds 1 ounce - lost it all later and spent most of my life skinny - and then I got old and found what I had lost.  I also did not stay short - I believe the order is reversed now and the eldest sister is the shortest and the youngest is the tallest. They all, including my mother and grandmother, wore size four shoes and rings - mine were much larger. They used to make me take the smallest tree to climb because I was the youngest; unfortunately, I was also the tallest, and my tree always bent to the ground.  If you were to read my very first post you would see why things are different for me, not that it is all that interesting, or even that it matters, but just in case you're curious.  If you are also curious to see more ABC Wednesday submittals, please click on the button to the right.  Peace.  B : ), just B, you'll see why if you read that old post : )

ABC Wednesday - E is for Egg

Please meet McCluskey:

McCluskey is a little stuffed chicken; poorly made out of cheap fabric, sitting in straw in a rough hewn box, who stole my heart many years ago.  I'm fairly certain I got her in New Jersey which means she has been with me over 25 years.  Her usual spot is on top of the fridge.  There is glass on the box and, even without a flash, I had a terrible time getting a good picture, so please enjoy this bad picture.  Isn't it funny how sometimes one little thing can wiggle it's way into your existence and you can't imagine living without it?  That's McCluskey.  Hope you enjoy her.  Peace.  B : )

It's Ruby Tuesday Time (please sing to the tune of Howdy Doody's theme song)

What do you mean you don't know Howdy Doody's theme song?  You must be waaaaay too young.  Oh wait, I think HD may have been a regional thing - and I'm from New Jersey. This was a hard choice, since I love red, almost as much as yellow and orange, but I decided to give my scraggly, sad looking, very long stemmed rose a chance to be in the spotlight.  Roses don't do all that well at my house, but I usually have a few to look at. This was the only one available today:

Please join the Ruby Tuesday gang at http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/2009/10/ruby-tuesday_26.html .  Come on, it's more fun that watching Howdy Doody.  Smile.  Peace.  B : )

Fertilizer Friday - I LOVE it!!

If you go to http://tootsietime.blogspot.com/ you will find a wonderful gardening blog - and they want your flower photos.  Since I couldn't come up with a good photo challenge to enter for Thursday, I thought I'd put up four photos today, just for Fertilizer Friday.  That tickles me : )  Here you go:

Although I miss a few things about New Jersey, mostly snow, which we didn't get enough of, sometimes I DO love Florida!  Have a happy day.  Peace.  B : )
